We are building a list of useful organisations and sources of support for young people and their families. Lots of this information is available to families on multiple websites and we are working with our partners and Family Information Service to find the most effective solution to sharing this information with Wiltshire families.
All parents are carers. However, Wiltshire Council provides specific support for individuals who are caring for a young person with complex needs or a disability.
We know that money can be a source of anxiety and frustration for all families so we are developing a list of sources of support and information on money and benefits, aimed specifically at families affected by special educational needs or disabilities.
Being able to get around independently can make all the difference to a young person with additional needs. From travel training and free bus passes, we are building a list of sources of support with traveling independently.
We aim to provide relevant information and documents to help professionals, parents, carers and young people.

Wiltshire Council own, maintain and make use of facilities all over the county. Libraries, leisure centres and children’s centres provide support, guidance and advice to families from all backgrounds and in all situations. Wiltshire Council already has an interactive map of its facilities, which can help you locate these sources of support in your community.
